Let's get ready for Winter 2021

Remote Services & Supports

The Cougars Campus Store team is working to ensure our services and support are readily available to students, faculty and staff in the upcoming semester with alternative delivery. We are committed to helping students in this new environment by providing up-to-date information on our services and policies. Check back frequently as details will change as we move closer to the start of the fall term.

If the information you are seeking is not included on this page, we kindly ask you to review the Campus Store FAQ before emailing us directly. Please note that we currently only accept Visa, Mastercard and campus store gift cards for online payments. If you do not have a credit card, email so we can help.

Note that we are currently experiencing a higher volume of inquiries as we help students prepare for the fall semester. Our response time by email and phone may be delayed but we will respond to all inquiries in the order they are received. We thank you for your patience!

The MRU OneCard is the official identification card for the Mount Royal University community. You will need to bring your OneCard with you anytime you are on campus to get building access. You do not need a OneCard if you are not coming to campus this fall or to take advantage of any remote services and supports, including those offered by the Cougars Campus Store.

All OneCard requests are to be submitted online (instructions below). Effective Oct. 5, all OneCard requests will be available for pickup from the Security office at the West Gate entrance. You will receive a confirmation email when your OneCard is ready for pickup. Please do not come to campus until you receive your pick-up confirmation email. You will need to present government-issued photo ID to pick up your card. You will not be required to select a pickup time slot. Pickup is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We recommend that you park in Lot 2 (free parking for 30-minutes) and walk to the West Gate entrance to get your OneCard. Press the intercom for entry and proceed to the Security office front desk. Please bring government-issued photo ID to pickup your OneCard. View our parking map for lot locations.

OneCard for new students

To get a OneCard, submit your photo to and complete the cardholder agreement form. Be sure to follow the photo guidelines provided under question 3 of the OneCard FAQ . You will receive an email confirmation when your card is ready for pickup from the Security office at the West Gate entrance. Please allow a minimum of three business days for processing.

OneCard for returning students

If you are a returning student with a OneCard that has an April 2020 expiry, it has been automatically renewed until April 2021. You do not need to come to campus to get a validation sticker and your OneCard will function as usual.

If you are a returning student and your OneCard is lost, stolen or damaged, we can issue a replacement card. There is a $20 fee on replacement cards, payable by Debit, Visa or Mastercard upon pickup. Complete the cardholder agreement form and select the replacement option when prompted. You will receive an email confirmation when your card is ready for pickup from the Security office at the West Gate entrance. Please allow a minimum of three business days for processing.

How to get your books online

The booklist will be available for many courses by July 31 and you can use the course list builder to check which textbooks are currently available for purchase. If your texts are available, we encourage you to purchase them in advance to beat the fall rush. If you decide to purchase your textbooks early, look out for the “R” for required and “O” for optional on the booklist.  Required texts are mandatory to complete the course and optional books are supplemental, recommended by the instructor.

You can wait until your first class or when you receive the class syllabus to buy your books. Keep in mind that you do not need to wait to purchase all your textbooks at once. Kindly note that used textbooks are in high demand and generally sell out quickly. To avoid delays, be sure to select "allow substitutions" when placing your textbook orders online. This means that if you select "used" but we only have new copies, we can still provide you with the book you need.

You may also experience a short delay in downloading eBooks after your credit card is charged. Please allow 24 hours after completing an order before contacting the campus store.

In some cases when using the course list builder, your course may not appear on the booklist in your search results. This is because materials for your course have not yet been selected and it’s best to wait until you receive your course syllabus to find out which materials are required. You can then search the online booklist based on what’s included in the syllabus. You may also receive a “No Materials Required” notice in your search results which means that no texts are required for this course.

The booklist is updated regularly as we get new text requests from faculty so we encourage you to check it frequently. Be sure to review your list of registered courses and the corresponding booklist to ensure that you are buying the right books. Note that different sections of the same class may use different books so it’s important to know your section.

Contactless pickup for online orders

As of Nov. 9 all contactless pickups will take place from the Cougars Campus Store and no longer from the West Gate entrance. Please read below for details.

Free contactless pickup will be listed as an option when placing orders online through the campus store. Free contactless pickup will take place at the Cougars Campus Store and is available to all those living in the Calgary area, including all surrounding communities within the Cochrane, Airdrie and Okotoks borders. Here's how it works:

Step 1: When you place your order online and select “contactless pickup” under shipping options, you will receive an initial email confirming that we’ve received your order. Keep your order number handy because you need it to select a time slot and to present when you pick up your order.

Step 2: Once we have fulfilled your order, you will receive a second confirmation email notifying you that your order is ready for pickup. This second confirmation email will include a link to a private Eventbrite page where you will select your pickup time slot. The earliest pickup opportunity will be 12-hours from when you click the Eventbrite link. You will not get access to the link or be able to book a pickup time until you receive this email. You will need your student ID and order number to complete the registration process on Eventbrite.

Step 3: You will receive a third confirmation email from Eventbrite with your digital ticket showing your time slot. While you do not need to present your digital ticket upon pickup, you do need to arrive during your selected time slot as your order may not be ready outside of that time slot.

Step 4: When you arrive on campus, proceed to Lot 2 near the West Gate entrance and park. Parking is free for the first 30-minutes. View our parking map for the lot location. Walk to the West Gate entrance and proceed through the first set of sliding doors. You will need to use the intercom on the wall to your right to contact Security. Once they verify your name on the pickup list they will buzz you through. Proceed to the Cougars Campus Store on Main Street and a representative will be there with your order. Please have your order number and a piece of government-issued photo ID ready to show the representative upon pickup.

The purpose of booking an appointment for contactless pickup is to limit the amount of traffic coming to campus at any one time and alleviate wait times. To facilitate this safely, pickup time slots are limited to 40 people within the daily two-hour window from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 2p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursday.

All online orders placed by those living in the Calgary area including all surrounding communities within the Cochrane, Airdrie and Okotoks borders will be fulfilled by free contactless pickup or be shipped at a flat rate of $10.00 (regardless of the purchase amount). If you live outside of the Calgary area we will ship your order, with free shipping on orders over $100.

Flat shipping rates before GST are as follows:

Canada: $10.00 CAD
USA: $14.95 CAD (applicable on all orders)
International: $19.95 CAD (applicable on all orders)

Online order fulfillment

Order fulfillment time varies depending on availability of supplies and quantity of orders. You will receive an email confirmation when your order is ready to ship or be picked up if you selected contactless pickup. If you chose contactless pickup, please follow the pickup instructions included in the confirmation email.

Contactless pickup orders may take up to three business days to process. If you choose to ship your order, please allow up to one week (seven business days) from order date to the order arriving at your doorstep. We anticipate a high volume of orders this fall but we will do our very best to process all orders in a timely manner.

Returns for online orders

Contactless returns will be available by appointment in the Campus Store from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. Note that the deadline to return textbooks was Oct. 2. Please contact the campus store at to book an appointment to make your return. Alternatively, you can ship your return by mail.

Students that need to make a return by mail need to email within the return policy window (14 days from purchase) with proof of shipment to confirm the return. We will process the refund once the item(s) is received. Please note that the cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Some exceptions apply for items arriving damaged or for incorrect orders.

The return policy for general merchandise (including clothing, accessories, supplies, etc.) is 14 days from receipt of the order. Clothing must still have tags attached and be unworn. All items must be in their original packaging if applicable. Original receipts are required for all returns, please make a copy for your records. Please refer to our return policy for more information including non-returnable items.

Printing services

Students requiring print services throughout the Fall 2020 semester can send their PDF files to Please include your phone number, required print quantities, colour printing preference (colour or black and white) and your preferred method of delivery or pickup in your email. Your printed files can be shipped and standard rates will apply or you can schedule an appointment for contactless pickup. A representative from the campus store will call you to collect payment information and confirm pickup or shipment details.

Faculty can do the same or submit requests through PrintSys. PrintSys can be accessed via MyMRU under the “Employee” tab by selecting “Resources and Timesheets” and scrolling down to “Work Tools”. Near the middle, there is the link to PrintSys as well as a Reference Guide and Troubleshooting Tips.

Parking is available in Lot 2 at the West Gate entrance and the East Gate parkade. View our parking maps for lot locations.

Parking is free for the first 30 minutes and then a significantly reduced flat rate of $5 per day will apply (compared with $17 during normal operations). Reduced parking rates and available lots are continuously under review and subject to change.

Payment will be contactless using the HotSpot app (fees apply). Pay stations will not be running. For full details on parking, parking permits and the payment process, visit the parking and transportation website.
