OneCard
All OneCard requests are to be submitted online through mru.ca/photo (instructions below). In-person photo submissions are no longer available. OneCards are currently available for pick up in the Cougars Campus Store during open hours. Please wait to receive a confirmation email stating that your card is ready for pick up before coming in store, and bring government-issued photo ID to pick up your card.
We recommend you park in Lot 2, walk to the West Gate entrance, and proceed downstairs to the store. View our parking map for lot locations.
To get a OneCard, submit your photo to mru.ca/photo and complete the cardholder agreement form. Be sure to follow the photo guidelines provided on the photo upload page. You will receive an email confirmation when your card is ready for pick up. Please allow a minimum of five (5) business days for processing.
If you are a returning student with a OneCard that has an April 2020 or 2021 expiry, it has been automatically renewed indefinitely. Your OneCard validation is now tied to your active status as a student at MRU and does not have a set expiration date. You do not need to come to campus to get a validation sticker and your OneCard will function as usual while you remain an active student at MRU.
If you are a returning student and your OneCard is lost, stolen or damaged, we can issue a replacement card. There is a $20 fee on replacement cards, payable by Debit, Visa or Mastercard upon pick up. Complete the cardholder agreement form and select the replacement option when prompted. You will receive an email confirmation when your card is ready for pick up. Please allow a minimum of five (5) business days for processing.
To get a nursing ID, submit your photo to mru.ca/photo and complete the nursing cardholder agreement form. Be sure to follow the photo guidelines Be sure to follow the photo guidelines provided on the photo upload page. You will receive an email confirmation when your card is ready for pick up. Please allow a minimum of five (5) business days for processing. If you need a replacement card, please follow the instructions outlined above.
Visit the OneCard FAQ for all other questions about OneCard or email onecard@mtroyal.ca.

Textbooks
To avoid delays, order your textbooks as early as possible!
The Spring booklist is available as of April 11th. You can use the course list builder to check which textbooks are currently available for purchase. If your texts are available, we encourage you to purchase them in advance. If you decide to purchase your textbooks online, look for Required and Optional texts. Required texts are mandatory to complete the course. Optional books are supplemental material recommended by the instructor. You can wait until your first class or when you receive the class syllabus to buy your books, but remember that you do not need to wait to purchase all your textbooks at once. Kindly note that used textbooks are in high demand and generally sell out quickly.
You may also experience a short delay in downloading eBooks after your credit card is charged. Please allow 24 hours after completing an order before contacting the campus store.
In some cases when using the course list builder, your course may not appear on the booklist in your search results. This is because materials for your course have not yet been selected and it’s best to wait until you receive your course syllabus to find out which materials are required. You may also receive a “No Course Materials Required” notice in your search results which means that no texts are required for this course.
The booklist is updated regularly as we get new text requests from faculty so we encourage you to check it frequently. Be sure to review your list of registered courses and the corresponding booklist to ensure that you are buying the right books. To find your registered course schedule, head to MyMRU. Select the "Register and Pay" tab and then select "My Course Schedule". You can also find your booklist on Blackboard. Note that different sections of the same class may use different books so it’s important to know your section.
If you're having trouble navigating the Course List Builder to find your books, reference our Textbook How-To Guide for tips.
