The Cougars Campus Store team is working to ensure our services and support are readily available to students, faculty and staff in the upcoming semester with alternative delivery. We are committed to helping students in this new environment by providing up-to-date information on our services and policies on this page. Check back frequently as details will change as we move closer to the start of the fall term.

The MRU OneCard is the official identification card for the Mount Royal University community. At this time, all OneCard requests must be submitted online and are limited to those who require access to campus for Fall 2020 courses with in-person exception components. We will let you know when all other students are able to request a OneCard. You do not need your OneCard to take advantage of any of our other services. 

Please note that you must bring your OneCard to campus for your in-person course work in order to get building access. OneCards will be available for pickup from the Security office at West Gate. Please bring government-issued photo ID upon pickup. The Security office can be reached 403.440.6897.

All OneCards with an April 2020 expiry have been renewed until April 2021. You do not need to come to campus to get a validation sticker and your OneCard will function as usual.

OneCard for new students with in-person course exceptions

To get a OneCard, submit your photo to and complete the cardholder agreement form. Be sure to follow the photo guidelines provided under question 3 of the OneCard FAQ and include “New student OneCard request” in the subject line of the email. You will receive an email verification when your card is ready for pickup. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for processing.


OneCard for returning students with in-person course exceptions

If you are a returning student and your OneCard is lost, stolen or damaged, we can help to issue a replacement card. Please submit your student ID number and a copy of government-issued photo ID by email to with “Request for replacement card” in the subject line of the email. Please allow a minimum of 48 hours for processing.



The U-Pass program will be deferred until Winter 2021. Students will not be charged any fees for U-Pass this fall. The City of Calgary offers other monthly transit passes, including low income options. For students in need of a transit pass, more information can be found on the City of Calgary transit website. How to get your books online

The booklist will be available for many courses by July 31 and you can use the course list builder to check which textbooks are currently available for purchase. If your texts are available, we encourage you to purchase them in advance to beat the fall rush. If you decide to purchase your textbooks early, look out for the “R” for required and “O” for optional on the booklist.  Required texts are mandatory to complete the course and optional books are supplemental, recommended by the instructor.

You can wait until your first class or when you receive the class syllabus to buy your books. Keep in mind that you do not need to wait to purchase all your textbooks at once. Kindly note that used textbooks are in high demand and generally sell out quickly. You may also experience a short delay in downloading eBooks after your credit card is charged. Please allow 24 hours before contacting the campus store.

In some cases when using the course list builder, your course may not appear on the booklist in your search results. This is because materials for your course have not yet been selected and it’s best to wait until you receive your course syllabus to find out which materials are required. You can then search the online booklist based on what’s included in the syllabus. You may also receive a “No Materials Required” notice in your search results which means that no texts are required for this course.

The booklist is updated regularly as we get new text requests from faculty so we encourage you to check frequently. Be sure to review your list of registered courses and the corresponding booklist to ensure that you are buying the right books. Note that different sections of the same class may use different books so it’s important to know your section.


Key dates

July 31 - Fall 2020 booklist is available online

September 3 - First day of fall semester classes

September 14 - Last day to adjust registration (add/drop) for the Fall 2020 semester with tuition refund (less deposit). This is also the last day for textbook returns and students must notify the campus store by email to confirm their return by this date with proof of shipment.


Contactless pickup

We are exploring a contactless pickup option for online orders. This is still in the works but check back often as we will share more information soon.



At this time, shipping is free within Canada. Shipping to the United States costs $9.95 CAD and international shipping is $14.95 CAD. Check this page frequently as this policy is subject to change.


Order fulfillment

Order fulfillment time varies depending on availability of supplies and quantity of orders. You will receive an email confirmation upon receipt of your order. Once your order is ready to ship or be picked up you will receive another confirmation email. If you choose contactless pickup, please follow the pickup instructions included in the confirmation email.

During peak periods contactless pickup orders may take up to two business days to process. If you choose to ship your order, please expect up to one week (seven business days) from order date to the order arriving at your doorstep. We anticipate a high volume of orders this fall but we will do our very best to process all orders in a timely manner.



The final date to return textbooks is Monday, September 14. This fall, most books will have to be returned by mail. Due to delayed shipping times, students that need to make a return must email by September 14 with proof of shipment to confirm the return. We will process the refund once the item(s) is received. Textbooks ordered after September 14 are non-refundable.

The return policy for general merchandise (including clothing, accessories, supplies, etc.) is seven (7) days from receipt of the order. You must email within one week (7 days) to confirm your return. Clothing must still have tags attached and be unworn. All items must be in their original packaging if applicable, including textbooks. Original receipts are required for all returns, please make a copy for your records. Please refer to our return policy for more information including non-returnable items.

Please note that the cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the student. Some exceptions apply for items arriving damaged or for incorrect orders. We are also exploring a contactless return option so please check back for more details coming soon.


Printing services

We are working to develop a process to support students' printing needs for Fall 2020. Please check back often for updates. In the meantime, students can email print requests and related questions to Faculty can do the same or submit requests through PrintSys. PrintSys can be accessed via MyMRU under the “Employee” tab by selecting “Resources and Timesheets” and scrolling down to “Work Tools”. Near the middle, there is the link to PrintSys as well as a Reference Guide and Troubleshooting Tips.



Please visit our parking and transportation website for the latest information. At this time, parking is free on campus. Lot 2 at the West Gate entrance and the East Gate parkade are open. All other lots are closed. The U-Pass program will be deferred until Winter 2021.

In order for sponsored students to order books and supplies online, email with your name, shipping address, student ID number, along with what books and supplies are required. We will be happy to assist you!
